When Sophie Barker went missing?
She went missing Thursday morning, last seen around 10:30 a.m. near her dad’s apartment in the Financial District. She had left her phone charging at home, which worried her family, as Sophie relies on medication for her condition.
Her mother, Saida, said Sophie left the apartment without her phone and was last seen at the intersection of Wall Street and William Street. Her family feared she might be confused or in a medical emergency from not taking her meds.
Sophie Barker missing- How Found?
Things took a positive turn when a security guard at the library recognized Sophie from a public alert and contacted the police. Detectives arrived quickly and, after confirming her identity through a FaceTime call with her stepdad, got her the help she needed. Local officers helped paramedics escort Sophie to the ambulance safely.
It’s possible Sophie went to the library for comfort, as she’s always been fond of libraries, according to a family friend. Thanks to the combined efforts of the police, community members, and library staff, Sophie is now safe and back with her family.
